Documents Required For Admission:

Documents to Bring:

Upon arrival in Russia, you will need to bring following documents….

• Valid passport

• Valid «study» visa

• Migration card

• School certificate

• Medical certificate including HIV test

• Confirmation of financial resources

• Other important documents and things

Valid passport: All individuals must bear a passport with at least 18 months of validity.

Valid «study» visa: Please make sure that you arrive in Kazan at least a month before the expiry of your visa. If you arrive in Russia with a visa validity of less than 20 days, your visa will not be extended and you will be asked to leave Russia before your visa expires. Failure to comply will lead to deportation with a ban on entry for up to five years.

Migration card: A blank migration card is usually given on flights. If you do not get one, you may ask the cabin crew for one or obtain it at the airport. Make sure you collect your passport, visa, and migration card before you leave the Passport Control at the airport. All these documents are required for your visa extension. Misplacing any of these may attract serious penalties and fines.

School Certificate: Original copies of your educational documents with grading legends. Degree certificates in the case of PG admissions should be accompanied by academic transcripts. All documents should be translated into Russian and must be apostilled or notarized by the Russian Embassy or Consulate in the country of issue or by a Russian notary.

Medical certificate including HIV test: All individuals who plan to stay in Russia for three months or longer must undergo a medical examination (including an HIV Blood Test) and obtain a certificate indicating that their health permits them to stay in the Russian climate. If health reasons prevent an admitted candidate from studying in the Russian Federation, he/she will have to leave Russia. The health certificate must indicate that the applicant has no contraindications for studying abroad and that he is mentally and physically fit. The health certificate must be issued by an official medical institution of the visitor’s country of residence. English or Russian translation of the certificate is required. The HIV test should be completed no earlier than a month before entering Russia.

Confirmation of Financial resources: In some cases, upon receiving an application and before processing an official invitation, the Admissions Dept. may ask for additional information on sources of funding that will be used to cover the applicant’s tuition and living expenses in Russia. This may be a bank statement or any other document that would confirm the availability of funds (e.g. letter of guarantee from a sponsor, scholarship organization, or any other institution that will provide funding).

Other important documents and things:

• Enough money for tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses, enough Russian currency and traveler cheques to support you until you can open a bank account

• All the information that the University has provided (Enrollment and Accommodation information, Welcome Guide for international students)

• 10 black & white (B&W) passport photos, Matt finish, 3 x 4 cms. size with white background.

• If you are taking any prescribed drugs or have a health condition, bring a letter from your doctor.

• Any original documents required for enrollment (i.e. original qualification certificates, letters of reference).

• Photocopy the personal details of your passport and visa stamp and keep them in a safe place.
